Metro Boomin — born Leland Tyler Wayne on September 16, 1993, in St. Louis, Missouri — is widely regarded as one of the most influential record producers in contemporary hip-hop and trap music. He began producing at just 16 years old and relocated to Atlanta to attend Morehouse College in 2012, quickly embedding himself in the city's thriving rap scene and building relationships with Future, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, and 21 Savage.
